2021 Alaperu Day: Ilisan - Ago Iwoye roads to commenced quarter in 2022 - Gov. Dapo Abiodun

The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiod this Saturday assured that construction work would commence on the Illisan- Ago-Iwoye road by the first quarter of next year.

Governor Abiodun who gave the assurance at the 35th edition of Akesan Day celebration held at the Kessington Adebutu Civic Centre, Iperu-remo in Ikenne Local Government Area, also added that the Iperu- Illisan road would be dualized to serve the Agro-Cargo Airport in the area.

The Governor noted that as a central point to the State, an Agro processing zone, that would process agricultural produce for export would be sited at the area while the Nigerian Airforce has indicated interest to established its operational base at the airport.

While pointing out that the occasion was to celebrate the rich culture of the town, governor Abiodun informed that a 100 bed hospital, under the Sustainable Development Goals, National Automobile Training Centre and an Integrated Farm Centre, would also be located in the area through the assistance of President Muhammad buhari

The State helmsman who harped on the need for all sons and daughters of iperu as well as residents to unite, submitted that the town could only experience meaningful development when the people live and work as a team

The commissioner for Culture and Tourism Dr. Toyin Taiwo, in a remark posited that the identity and heritage of the land depended on the quality of its people, stating that Iperu has both identity and quality which the youths could harness to be useful to themselves and the society.

The chairman of Ogun state traditional council also double as Akarigbo and Paramount ruler of Remoland Oba Babatunde Ajayi, lauded governor dapo abiodun for keeping to his words of spreading the ongoing infrastructural development across the state

Also speaking, the Alaperu of Iperu, Oba Adeleke Basibo called for unity among all sons and daughters of iperu-,remo in order to move the town forward

The event was attended by dignitaries including the deputy-governor, engineer noimot salako oyedele, traditional rulers, government functionaries among others
