Baring all unforeseen circumstances, President Muhammadu Buhari is being expected to visit Ogun State in December to inaugurate some road projects executed by governor Dapo Abiodun.
Parts of the road works to be inaugurated include the Ijebu-Ode - Epe road which is ninety percent completed and the Flyover under construction across the Sagamu - Ore expressway at the Epe junction corridor of the expressway.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, gave the hint after inspecting the progress of works on the road in company of some members of the Nigeria Society of Engineers(NSE) and Nigeria Council of Registered Engineers (COREN).
Akinsanya explained that the flyover when completed, will put an end to head on collision by motorists travelling on the Ijebu Ode Epe road with their counterparts on Sagamu - Ore expressway.
The 14km Ijebu Ode - Epe road used to be the major artery between Ijebu and Lagos State via Epe during the old western region but failed due to neglect over the years but it has since been reconstructed by Dapo Abiodun led administration.
The features of the road include street lights, lay-bys, security post and a toll points at the entrance from Ijebu Ode to Epe and one other situating between the boundary of Ogun and Lagos State.
Speaking with newsmen at the site, the Immediate past Chairman of NSE, Abeokuta branch, Engr. Olanrewaju, Apampa noted that the construction is of high quality, saying when completed, it drive rapid socioeconomic development of both Ogun and Lagos State.
