The honourable members, House Committee on Health and Environment Abeokuta North Legislative Council ably led by Hon Morooff Olatunde Salaudeen MOS, councilor representing Ward 09 held a crucial meeting on Wednesday 24th November 2021 with the Director of Environmental Services and CDA Representatives.
The meeting took place at the Director Of Community Affairs Office in Abeokuta North Local Government, Akomoje, Abeokuta.
In Attendance were Hon. Moruff Olatunde Salaudeen, The Chairman House Committee On Health And Environment; Hon. Ayotunde Nasiru, Secretary House Committee on Health And Environment; Comrade Usman Ganiyu Olamilekan, Abeokuta North Zonal Youth Representative; Chief Kazzem Ajagunjeun, Abeokuta North Zonal CDC Chairman; Prince Sodeke, Director Of Environmental Services, Abeokuta North; Mr Oladele Daud, Director Community Development, Abeokuta North; and Mrs Toriola Dorcas, Abeokuta Noth Zonal CDC Women Representative.
The meeting was called in lieu of the proposed sanitation drive to be embarked on by environmental health workers in the council by November or December to houses in Abeokuta North by bringing houses without toilet, pit toilet and dirty surroundings to book.
The purpose of this sanitation is to prevent diseases through healthy environment.
Hon Moruff Olatunde Salaudeen however interceded and pleaded on behalf of the good people of Abeokuta North that the environmental health workers put the proposed exercise on hold till next year.
He also beseeched the Representatives of the CDA communities present at the meeting to pass the information across the communities for them to make their surroundings clean and also for the houses without toilets to get it in due time.
