The Public-Private Partnership policy of the Ogun State Government is yielding fruit, as an oil and gas company, Petrolex Oil and Gas Limited, is set to begin operation in the State in the next five weeks.
Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta after a meeting with the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mr. Segun Adebutu, said the project would expand the economy base of the State, noting that about 300 people have been employed, while over 1,000 would be engaged when the company begins full operation.
"We came to discuss with the Governor about my project at Ibefun, an oil and gas project. It has been a long journey and I am happy that it is finally coming into being active in the next few weeks. It started in 2017 and it will go into full operation in the third week of January next year. Already, we have employed about 300 and by the end of January, over 1000 people will be working there", the CEO said.
Mr. Adebutu who was impressed with the on-going development in the State, appreciated the present administration for giving attention to road infrastructure, noting that it is one of the basic necessities needed to drive investment in any society.
