TENDER YOUR LAYOUT APROVAL, OGSG TELLS COMMUNITY LEADERS

        Community leaders in Ogun State have been directed to tender the approved layout of their landed property or survey plans, towards achieving proper planning of the physical environment of the State.      
     Commissioner for Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPL. Olatunji Odunlami made this known during a sensitisation meeting with community leaders at Kobape and Baara town in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the State.     

      Odunlami said the layout design should have proper setbacks and spaces for schools, health care facilities, Police Post, Playground, Market, among others, explaining that once the approval is given, there would not be any reason for demolition of buildings.         

  The Commissioner, represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Tunde Olugbewesa urged the leaders to desist from selling landed property without having proper layout of the area, reiterating that the government was determined to achieve a more conducive environment for the overall well-being of the people.       

    He noted that government would not condone any form of illegal development or erection of Shanties along Abeokuta-Sagamu interchange, urging owners of illegal structures to remove them forthwith, as it is against the Physical Planning Laws and Regulations of the State.    

       “Any law-abiding citizen who wishes to build should obtain planning permit from Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA). Also, an evidence of stage certification which includes certificate of completion and fitness for habitation should be obtained from Ogun State Building Production Management Authority (OGBPMA) before any building construction.        

   In his response, the Olu of Kobape, Oba Johnson Taylor appreciated the State government for its commitment, towards the rehabilitation of the road and well-being of the citizens, assuring of the community’s readiness to abide by Physical Planning rules.       

    On his part, the Secretary of Baara Community, Mr. Isaac Adeboye appealed to the government to provide accommodation for the aged, whose houses were demolished by the past administration, expressing readiness to abide by the physical planning law of the State, in order to maintain a healthy environment.
