Engineers whole over has been encouraged to be change agents who must be constantly abreast of the evolving trends in the profession with peculiarity to an ever changing world
The Ogun State deputy governor, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele who came with these this summation at the investiture of the 3rd chapter chairman and inauguration of 2021/2022 executives alongside induction of new corporate members of the Ota branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers held at Bells University of Technology Ota, added that, there was need to embrace creativity as catalyst in fast-tracking sustainable economic development.
" Engineers are change drivers, who should be ambassadors of national development and policy making process" she said.
Engineer Salako-Oyedele reiterated the commitment of the Dapo Abiodun led administration to addressing the infrastructural challenges hindering the manufacturing sector in the state.
Delivering a keynote address on the theme: "global strategy,local scale", the state commissioner for forestry, Engineer Tunji Akinosi emphasised that innovation plays a critical role in the industrialisation process, adding that engineers are key agents that cause major change in national economy.
While noting that global brands all started locally, Engr Akinosi advised the Nigerian engineers to adhere to essential strategies, procedures and concepts capable of fostering the local brands awareness with a view to enhancing
national economic growth through industrialisation.
In his inaugural speech, the 3rd Chairman of the Ota branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engineer Adewale Adeyemi assured that the new executives will promote public good through quality engineering services.
