ABIODUN DECLARES ZERO TOLERANCE TO KIDNAPPING, RITUAL KILLINGS

By Oluwayemisi Oloyede

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured the people that his government will strengthen the security architecture at ensuring that social vices particularly kidnapping, ritual killings, drug abuse, among others are eradicated.

Governor Abiodun gave this assurance in Abeokuta, while adressing the Committee on Defense of Human Rights, Ogun and Human Rights and Grassroots Development Society (HRGDS), led by its National Secretary, Comrade Yinka Folarin.

Abiodun, represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, AIG Olusola Subair (Rtd.) said the government is working with the security agencies in the State to ensure that safety of lives and property were guaranteed.

" It is not as if the government is not doing anything on the incessant ritual killings, kidnapping, armed robbery, internet fraud and so on, we are working to eradicate all these vices with the support of the security agencies to make the State a safe place", he said.

In his presentation, the National Secretary, HRGDS, Comrade Folarin, revealed that the sensitisation campaign was necessitated by the rate at which criminalities and other social vices had become rampant in the society, and the need to reawaken the consciousness of the people against the menace.

"Ogun State is known for peace, and not all these social vices we are experiencing. We are saying no to kidnapping, ritual killings, cultism, internet fraud and drug abuse. We are ready to join hands with government at all levels, communities and religious leaders to nip the acts in the bud”, Folarin stated.
