Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Ngozi Onadeko, has said that the police in conjuctoon with other security agencies in the state were discretely working to arrest the hoodlums that attacked a bulion van in Ibadan on Thursday.
CP Onadeko disclosed this after visiting the scene of the robbery incident, where a van transporting money to a bank at Idi-Ape in Ibadan North East Local Government area of Oyo state, came under attack by robbers.
Unonfficial sources said four policemen and three civilians were feared dead following bullets fired by the robbers who shot sporadically during the operation.
The People's Voice learnt that the robbers struck when the Bullion Van stopped at the newly installed traffic light in Idi-Ape area of Ibadan and started shooting sporadically at the van around 1 pm.
But giving updates on the incident, Onadeko said two police officers were shot in the neck.
She revealed that her men also killed one of the robbers but the corpse was evacuated by the robbery gang.
The police boss said that in and out of the state had been locked down ostensibly to prevent the robbers from getting out of the state.
