An Igbore Baale - General, High Chief Jamiu Ololade Animashaun, has appealed to youths in the ancient community to promote peaceful co-existence as the Lisabi festival continued on Saturday.
Animashaun who is Baale of Afojupanla town, Obafemi Owode local government area of Ogun State, made the plea in an interview on the sidelines of year, 2022 Lisabi festival.
He congratulated the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo and other Obas in Egbaland for witnessing year 2022 Lisabi festival
Chief Animashaun also commended the monarch for ensuring that peace reign supreme in the entire Egba Kingdom and the State in general.
He appealed to residents, especially youths, to show love and hospitality to visitors who had turned out to witness the annual festival.
Speaking on Lisabi festival, Chief Animashaun said the festival was to promote peace, unity and to celebrate heroism in Egbaland.
He urged residents to use the period to pray for blessings, joy and promotion.
“We don’t want crisis or record of any disaster during and after this Lisabi festival, I therefore called on residents to support the Alake in uplifting Egbaland as well as promoting peace and unity among traditional rulers.
While calling on all Egba sons and daughters, especially Igbore descendants home and abroad to continue to be ambassadors of tourism promotion as custodians of culture and traditions of their respective communities, Chief Animashaun said Lisabi festival has remained a major rallying point for all Egbas home and abroad.
He urged other traditional rulers in Egbaland to continue to play active role in marketing Egba tourism potential to the world, saying that as custodians of the culture and tradition of the people, royal fathers should be at the forefront of the state government’s tourism development campaign.
