The Wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun has advised the Children to emulate the love of Christ which is the reason for Easter and let it show in their behaviour and attitude towards others.
Mrs. Abiodun stated this at the Easter Children's Party organised for children today at the Keshington Adebutu Civic Center, Iperu, Remo, Ogun State.
She said Easter speaks of the sacrificial love of God for humanity and repentance of sin, without which the death and resurrection of Christ would be in vain, noting that the only way to reciprocate it, is to love God and fellow human beings.
"I am very happy to host you at this Easter party because this is a very important event for children of God. Easter speaks of the sacrificial love of God for humanity. Our response should be to love Him in return and love others as well. I implore you to be obedient to your parents, teachers, and elders, and say no to violence and bullying", She noted.
The first lady advised them to allow the love of Jesus Christ to dwell in them and in their deeds to friends, brothers, sisters, and parents, adding that God’s love for mankind supersedes every human love.
In his address, the Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye, advised the children to be studious, respect elders and heed to the counsel of their parents and guardians.
Speaking on behalf of the other children, Master Pelumi Odulana and Miss Rebecca Sanya, appreciated the First Lady for the show of love towards them, describing the event as fun and memorable.
The celebration which was attended by children within Iperu and its environs featured games, quizzes, dance competitions, and other side attractions with the distribution of gifts to the children.
