The executive chairman of Ewekoro Local Government has advised the faithful muslim to use this Ramadan period to pray fervently for peace and restoration of our beloved country
Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa popularly called ESKAY made this appeals during the 2022 annual Ramadan lecture in conjunction with the league of Imams and Alfas of Ewekoro local government held today at local government secretariat
He said, may the peace and blessings of Allah (SWT) continue to be upon His noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his household, his companions and all those who follow him until the Day of Judgment- Aameen.
With great joy and gratitude to Almighty Allah, I welcome you all to this epoch-making occasion of year 2022 Ewekoro Local Government Annual Ramadan Lecture. Let me explain briefly why I called it "an epoch-making making occasion". The Local Government Muslim Staff Community organized a Ramadan Lecture in this place few days ago and it was well attended. To the glory of Allah (SWT), today again, as u promised at the said event and as Allah has decreed it, a Twin-Ramadan Lecture is being organized by the Local Government in conjunction with the League of Imams and Alfas of the Local Government. This occurrence is unprecedented in the history of this Local Government.
He said, "Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar and it is the period of the year all Muslim Ummahs have been commanded by Allah (SWT) to observe fasting, Quran Chapter 2, Verse 183 which says, "O ye believers, fasting is enjoined on you as it was on those before you, so that you might become righteous". Therefore, I wish to encourage us to take advantage of this holy month to the best of our capability to purify our souls, do more good deeds and beseech Allah's (SWT) guidance, peace, forgiveness and blessings that come with the month".
He said, my Brothers and sisters in Islamic, "we all know that Nigeria as a country is facing a lot of hard nut to creak problems, presently".
Therefore, I will like to use this medium to implore us to pray fervently for peace and restoration of our beloved country. This does not exclude the Christian faithful since all of us are Nigerians. Let us join hands together to pray for the healing of our dear country as I strongly believe that Allah (SWT) is the All-Hearing, the most Forgiving and the Most Compassionate but we all need to do our parts first and now.
One again, I welcome everybody to this Ramadan Lecture as I implore you to sit back and enjoy the topics of the day tagged "ROLE OF YOUTH TOWARDS NATION BUILDING" and "THE ROLE OF PARENT ON THEIR CHILDREN" being done justice to by the guest lecturers, who are experienced Islamic scholars in person of Fadilat Sheikh Salman Ibrahim Ajilogbasho and Fadilat Sheikh Al-Imam Ibrahim Abdul Raman Oluwabi, the Chief Imam of Obada Land and Wasiru Musulumi, Ewekoro Local Government. I strongly believe that our hopes and aspirations will be totally restored after the delivery of the lectures by them today.
May Allah accept this and other good deeds of ours during this holy month of Ramadan as acts of Ibadah and grant us many more Ramadan on earth- Aameen.
