The Erelu Babes shot-stopper whose her eye-watering performance at the just concluded 2022 Nigeria Women Professional Football-Nationwide league where she conceded just one goal throughout the competition for Ekiti Queens FC paved ways for her into the Nigeria Women's National U17 Football Team.
While speaking with Ekiti Queens Media Officer, Afuye Kehinde said "Being invited to the Nigeria Women’s U17 is a dream come true for me.
My profound gratitude goes to the wife of the Executive Governor of Ekiti State for the feat attained in female football across the country through
Her Excellency, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the support of the first lady has been a morale booster for me and the entire team. This is the first of it's kind in Ekiti State.
"Ekiti Queens FC Goalkeeper, Afuye Kehinde Adepeji makes the Nigeria Women's U17 final list for the 2022 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in India".
I also want to thank the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Michael Awopetu for conceptualising the establishment of Ekiti Queens F.C as part of his programs for youth and sports development in Ekiti State. I am also much obliged to the Management of the club, the technical crew members under the Head Coach,
Mrs Mojisola Adekanye and my teammates for their support. I couldn’t have done it without them. I promise to make them proud in the National Team."
The Flamingos will participate in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup that takes place in India from 11th of October – 30th of October 2022.
