Mr Ayobami Clinton and Mrs Adebayo Ayobami for driving a car without number plate and assault on some of its personnel at Oluwaga- Ipaja area.
The incident occurred on Saturday, July 24, 2022 at about 2:30pm.
The couple were charged to court on Monday and thereafter remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Center.
A video of the incident revealed Adebayo assaulting one of the personnel and denying him entry into their car.
However, the personnel applied professionalism to get the suspects arrested and impounded their car which was driven without a number plate.
Spokesperson of the Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in his tweets who gave the details of the incident said, “Yesterday, July 24, 2022 at about 2:30pm, police officers of Ipaja Division flagged down a Mercedes Benz car for not having number plates at Oluwaga-Ipaja.
“A passenger, Mrs Adebayo Ayobami aggressively and disdainfully questioned why the police officers stopped her husband and not other vehicles.
“She, thereafter, declined to answer any question. In an attempt to get them to the station for further questioning owing to their unprovoked aggressiveness and suspicious behavior, she and her husband, Ayobami Clinton assaulted the police officers.
“The car was impounded. They were arraigned today; and the court remanded them at Kirikiri prison.
