Gov. Abiodun Responsible For Labour Worker's Death, Says NNPP Chairman

By Taiwo Yakubu, Abeokuta

The  State Chairman of New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Ogun state chapter Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday, has hinged the death of Comrade Sunday Ogunjinmi on Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Ogunjimi, a teacher with the Ogun State Government slumped and died on Friday during the organized labour protest over 21 months of unpaid deductions by Governor Dapo Abiodun's administration.

Comrade Oginni, commiserated with the entire workforce of Ogun state on the untimely death, accused Governor Abiodun of being responsible for the former Odeda local government Youth Council Chairman's death, saying if the current administration had not mismanaged the worker's deductions, the late Comrade would not have joined the protest despite his unknown health challenges.

Oginni said Ogunjinmi's death questioned governor Abiodun's administration's on the protection of the lives of Ogun State citizens.

The NNPP Chairman noted that the primary aim of every responsible government is the protection of the lives and properties of the entire citizens.

"It is saddening to see a Government facilitating a needless death of one of the aggrieved workers who are legitimately demanding their rights.

"The Ogun NNPP, therefore, call on Governor Dapo Abiodun to publicly apologize to Ogun State workers for this needless death of one of their colleagues.

"In the same vein, the Ogun State Government must as a matter of urgency pay a condolence visit to the family of late Sunday Ogunjinmi with immediate payment of all his entitlements and possible immortalization of this fallen hero."
