Lyon flanked by police officers
Police paraded kidnap sensation, Lyon Ewa on Monday alongside three members of his alleged gang in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
Reports indicate Lyon was nabbed in Abuja on Saturday after a manhunt for him.
Police said Ewa was arrested by officers of operation Puff Adder who prowled the kidnap of one Danjuma Emeije, manager of a bank in Yenagoa.
During the parade, Ewa claimed he is not the leader of the group, but he received money for pointing out the houses of victims to the abductors.
Emeije, who reportedly was Lyon’s former boss, was kidnapped on June 30, 2022, and was released afterwards following the payment of N50 million ransom.
The kidnap hotshot denied police allegations, claiming that he was in the hospital with his sick mother at the reported period of the operations.
He however confirmed he was given N1.5 million and N3.5 million variously for pointing the houses of victims, including another one identified as Hakeem.
Emma, an alleged accomplice paraded along with him refuted Lyon’s claims.
The accomplice revealed that Ewa approached him and other gang members with the proposal to kidnap Hakeem and Danjuma.
