The officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has reportedly arrested the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Taiwo Oluomo.
He was reportedly arrested Thursday at the Muritala Muhammaed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
According to the source, Oluomo has been taken to the Lagos office of the Commission were he is expected to undergo further questioning.
EFCC has been on investigating the Assembly under the leadership of Oluomo following alleged financial crimes.
EFCC had invited members of the House of Assembly for questioning, but Oluomo and few others had instituted a case against the EFCC challenging its authority to have issued the invitation.
It was reported that the former Deputy Speaker, Dare Kadiri, was the only member who honoured the invitation.
The Assembly has been accussed of forging documents belonginag to a company belonging to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Obasanjo Holdings Limited; and another company belonging to the former Speaker of the House, Sujar Isola Adekunbi; and non existing corporate entities to retire over N700 million meant for the running of the Assembly.
