The erstwhile Aare of Wasinmi Community has finally emerged as the second Oniwasinmi elect in a four to zero vote held. the Adele Oba of Wasinmi refused to sign certificate for the Oba- Elect, Chief Koleosho Sufian who was elected by the council.
The election was held among Prince Taiwo Ogunbona, Hon. Enitan, Chief Baale Kemta Akum and Prince Jolaosho Sufian who was Aare of Wasinmi.
High Chief Lawrence Olusoji Ilori, Adele Oba of Wasinmi Community has expressed his displeasure over the conduct of the election process carried out by local government officials lead by Hon. Adewunmi Okanlawon Secretary to Ewekoro locà l government, Itori.
The Regent described the process as unconstitutional, illegal and null avoid drawing their attention to what Ogun State chiefs law said.
He said, "the Local Government failed to conduct the screening for all the candidates. Government failed to perform their duties as chieftaincy law stated". Balogun stated
While responding to the allegations level against government, the executive chairman of Ewekoro Local Government Hon. Adesina Isiaka reaffirmed that due processes were followed before and during the election conducted.
Adesina explained that they have no interest in whoever becomes the new Oniwasinmi but that due process must be followed in accordance with Ogun State chiefs law while also advising other warrant Chief to accept in good faith the result of the election as God's wish.
Effort made to speak with some of the candidates were abortive as they were not ready to say anything but believe they have right to challenge the whole process in the court of law.
