The Presidential Candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adebayo Adewole has had meeting with the former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo behind close-door.
Adewole also said Nigeria cannot do without Obasanjo while addressing the Newsmen after the meeting on Friday at OOPL, Okemosan, Abeokuta the State capital.
He described his visit as an obligatory action because Nigeria cannot do without Obasanjo due to his wealth of experience and how agile he is.
He added that, his discussion is about making the party more stronger and how to make solution to the Nigeria problems.
He disclosed that, Obasango has right to endorse anyone he wish to emerged as the president of Nigeria at the 2023 general elections.
He concluded that, INEC cannot postpone the election because they has no right to determine either the election will take place or not. He said they can only step aside if they can’t continue with the exercise.
“Our purpose is to come to Ogun state to do rally for our party, to see the traditional rulers and we can’t come here without seeing baba obasanjo. We always gain from him because we learn a lot about governance, about how baba is still working hard and we are more encouraged that we are on the right part.
“Issues that baba is talking about is our issues. Baba has known almost all of us for a long time. It is more of a family visit, is not much of a political nature. Any where you found Obasanjo, you can’t do without about Nigeria after how are you doing sir,” he said.
“Our discussion with him is basically about to make our party more stronger and we are at right direction. Baba is on the view that, the solution to Nigeria problem will not come from the old parties, will come from the new parties. He said we should do our best, wish us well and he will give us assistance as give to any other person both in Nigeria and outside.
“About the endorsement of Peter Obi by Obasanjo, Baba is also a Nigerian, a free person who has the right to go his mind. The election is still far. The essence of democracy is getting people to change their minds and it is a continuous exercise,” he added.
“INEC dare not to postpone the Election, their essential work there is to conduct the election not postpone it. They can resign and i hope they don’t but if they don’t do what they should they can resign and we will put new commissioners there,” he concluded.
