The Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Ogun state, Engr Tony Ojeshina has quitted his ambition to join the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu.
In a statement in Abeokuta, the state capital on Thursday, Ojeshina noted that his alliance with the Adebutu was to rescue the residents of the state from the “deceptive government of APC”.
“In order to take the people’s power from the cabal at Oke Mosan, there is a need to collaborate across the political divide.
The statement reads “Our great party Social Democratic Party (SDP) has agreed to work with People's Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties during the gubernatorial election of March 11, 2023 in order to Wrestle power from the current deceptive government of APC.
“We sincerely believe the synergy between SDP and PDP will usher in a prosperous time for our people, anchored on the lofty vision of making Ogun an industrious model state in Nigeria, based on the ethos of Omoluabi.
“SDP remains committed to our ideals and ethos of CREATING A MODEL STATE.
He added “We therefore enjoined all Ogun State registered voters, as well as supporters and members of our great party, to vote for PDP during Governorship Election in the state.”
