The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olakunle Oluomo, as the winner of the April 15th, 2023 supplementary house Assembly election in the state.
Oluomo who sought for re-election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the fourth time defeated Hon. Yusuf Okikiola Ogundele of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the rerun Election held at Vespa, Ifo Ogun State, Nigeria.

Oluomo defeated with about 950 votes as he polled 7546 votes to defeat his opponent Hon. Ogundele who scored 6596 votes.
"Meanwhile on the 18th days of March, 2023 there was an issues of over voting at units 08, Vespa Ifo, Ogun State and Independent National Electoral Commission counsle the elections and called for rerun at polling units 08 Vespa Ifo ward 1".
While All Progressive Congress (APC) poll 167 while Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) poll 186 votes at supplementary election in Ifo local government areas of Ogun State.
According Prof. Richard Abayomi Sobayo collation/returning Officer in Ifo State constituency 1 Election. And hereby cleared Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olakunle Oluomo Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly winner and return.
In his acceptance speech Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olakunle Oluomo Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly thanked God Almighty for giving victory and appreciated all the electorate for performing there civic right deligently.
While lament the low turnout of the electorates at booth today.
