The Ogun State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) felicitates with Mr. Olamide Oluwaseyi Abe for his landslide achievement as one of the 16 selected young sports reporters to represent Africa in Paris, France for the IOC/AIPS Young Reporters Programme Dakar 2026 for Africa in September, 2023.
Olamide, who works for Made In Africa media platform was among the thousands of applicants who shown interest in the IOC/AIPS Young Reporters Programme Dakar 2026.
The IOC/AIPS Young Reporters Programme is for promising and energetic young reporters who wish to undertake both general and specialized training in English and French, in various aspects of sports reporting and how to cover major sports events such as Olympic Games.
We are proud of this achievement, because our prompt reaction and mutual communication to the organizers of the programme in Dakar, Senegal was helpful for this feat.
As part of the current executives capacity-building programme initiative, SWAN will continue to motivate and encourage its members to fully explore opportunities for sports writers to excel in their chosen careers.
We urge the beneficiary of this training to remain focus and dedicated in his pursuit of a brighter future in sports journalism and be a good Ambassador of Ogun SWAN and Nigeria in general during this period of the training.
