By Our Correspondent
For some time now, the media space, especially social media, has been awash with spurious tales alleging a rift between the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR and Local Government Chairmen.
Our initial position was to avoid engaging in verbal war with anybody, in the belief that the purveyors of such fake news will tire outu.
However, seeing that the trend has not subsided, we feel compelled to issue a statement.
At no time did the Local Government Chairmen in Ogun State question the leadership ability of Prince Dapo Abiodun nor was there ever a rift between us and the governor.
We hereby reiterate our absolute confidence in his leadership of the government of the state.
This vote of confidence is no fluke.
In less than three years and in spite of global economic downturn, occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, Prince Dapo Abiodun has completed monumental infrastructural projects, covering virtually all sectors, across all zones of the State.
For the first time in the history of Ogun State since the commencement of the forth Republic, the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration has completed many worthwhile projects, either abandoned or uncompleted by his predecessors. This is very uncommon in our clime.
In all these, he has operated without noise, remaining focused on his goal of leaving the state better than he met it, through his mantra, Igbega Ipinle Ogun, Ajose Gbogbo wa ni.
It is no overemphasis to state that, prior to the coming on board of his administration, there was monumental disrepair of infrastructure across the state. This cannot be totally fixed in four years.
The Local Government Chairmen, without exception, are in total harmony with the governor.
Those creating imaginary rift between the Governor and Local Government Chairmen are opposition elements who are hell-bent on giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it and their cohorts who are seeking attention.
They have all missed the target. We have only pity for them and advise them to desist from an enterprise that is unproductive. They have failed woefully.
They made allusion to imaginary battle line between us and the governor over the cars presented to the Council Chairmen.
We want the general public to know that all Council Chairmen, without exception, have taken possession of their cars.
By God's grace, Prince Dapo Abiodun shall continue in his giant strides to better the lots of the citizenry of Ogun State, to the glory of God. As e dey sweet us, e go dey pain dem.

Chairman,
