As part of his continued efforts in giving back to his constituents, The Senator representing Lagos West senatorial district, Senator Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as Yayi has empowered no fewer than 2,790 people in his constituency with over N200 million
The beneficiaries of these gestures include; Students, Teachers, and Artisans, among many others across three districts in his constituency.
The events, which took place in two different venues in Ikeja, Lagos state on Wednesday had a massive crowd of beneficiaries.
For instance, the Senator earlier in the day attended the event which took place at the Academy guest house in Agidingbi. Ikeja, where students and teachers were given 480 laptops to enhance their skills in the world of ICT.
The beneficiaries, who were made up of 255 Teachers and 225 Students, had earlier been trained in different certified ICT programmes and went home with laptops and N10,000 each for their transportation.
According to Senator Adeola, all the trained teachers and students for ICT were nominated by the Lagos State Educational Board from across the 10 LGAs of Lagos West Senatorial District.
Meanwhile, the second leg of the event, which was held at the Vintage event hall at Acme Road, also, had in attendance party leaders of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Alimosho local government and massive beneficiaries of the empowerment.
it is, therefore, worthy of note that the 2310 constituents who were beneficiaries of the second empowerment exercise, had also been trained in different vocational skills, such as; Advanced Solar Energy, Agric-Value Chain, Confectionery, Fish Production, Event Planning, Hair Dressing and Barbing, among many others.
They are all going to be empowered with the equipment of their various skills, transport allowance and cash grant ranging from N80,000 to N150,000. I congratulate all the beneficiaries of these programmes and urge them to diligently apply skills learnt in course of their training for their socio-economic advancement in society”, he said.

“I am delighted to witness this event targeted at Human Resource Development for teachers and educational advancement for youth in my senatorial district, Lagos West. I am happy that my constituents are beneficiaries of facilitated by me in the important area of Information, Communication and Technology, ICT”, he said.
On his representative functions to his constituents over the years, he said: ” I have made it of paramount importance that youths in my constituency are given the requisite skills to establish themselves in gainful self-employment or to broaden their knowledge base. Towards this end, many pieces of training for skill acquisition, entrepreneurship development and ICT as well as empowerment with equipment and grants had taken place in the past with thousands of beneficiaries that are now gainfully employed.
“Only last year on June 20, I held a similar programme targeted at tertiary education graduates with 1000 youths certificated in various ICT programmes that are internationally recognized. My facilitations for ICT training dates back to my years as a state legislator representing Alimosho State Constituency 2. I sponsored many youths in ICT at the reputable NIIT with certification that led to engagement by corporate organizations and other gainful self-employment”, he said.
“Let me state that in the remaining period of my service as senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, I will continue to deliver effective representation to my constituents from all walks of life with resources available for the largest senatorial district in Nigeria in terms of population inclusive of similar and skills acquisition”, he added.
