The Executive Chairman Of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa has joined millions of Nigerians to celebrate 30th years of JUNE 12 in Nigeria.
Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa made this known in a press statement signed today Monday 12th of June, 2023.
Adesina explained that, "On behalf of the Government and the good People of Ewekoro Local Government Area;
I' felicitate with the good people of Ewekoro Local Government Area, Our Dear State (Ogun) Nigeria as a whole as the nation marks its 24th democracy day today. I congratulate all Nigerians for their resolute faith and unflinching dedication to democracy and the rule of law which has enabled our country to enjoy 24 consecutive years of democratic governance.
He said, it is gratifying to note that this popular form of Government has taken root in Nigeria. The recent successful elections and the eventual handing over of power to new Governments at national and state levels further attest to the flourishing democratic culture in our polity.
Despite its inherent challenges and hiccups, Nigerians have come to realize that there is no better alternative to participatory democracy under which freedom of choice is protected and right of lawful dissent is guaranteed.
In this regard, it is quite symbolic and pleasing that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who played crucial role in the triumph of the progressives in the annulled June 12, 1993 election and a pivotal character in the long and harrowing post annulment struggles which ultimately birthed the current democratic dispensation in 1999 has been favored by providence to preside over the affairs of Nigeria at this time as the 16th elected President and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces Of Nigeria.
I congratulate Nigerians on this wonderful democratic milestone. I enjoin every one of us to support the new Governments of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun CON, and All our National and State House Of Representatives; Let us all unite behind all our elected leaders as they strive to make life more abundant for all and sundry.
I wish you all a Happy Democracy day and pray for peace and progress in our country.
