Former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. The inauguration has been postponed till 20, June 2023.

An insider in the house,  who claimed anyonimity revealed that majority of the house of assembly members-elects are not in support of Oluomo because of his serious case with EFCC and some other court cases.

Hon. Elemide who is representing Odeda State Constituency  is contesting against Hon. Olakunle Oluomo as  to unsit him.

Our correspondent also gathered that the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun is in support of Olakunle Oluomo to return as the speaker of the House of Assembly  and Hon. Lateefat Ajayi , who is representing Egbado South Constituency to be the Deputy speaker of the house of assembly.

Hon. Elemide is a core loyalist and follower of the past governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, who is a Chieftain of APC.

The reliable source informed that the 9 PDP house of assembly members – elect are working against Oluomo because they don’t  want to continue with the Speaker who is facing different court cases.

Meanwhile, other two members of the Assembly who are in the race with Oluomo are Hon. Daisi Elemide and Hon. Damilare Soneye from Obafemi Owode state constituency.

And as Sunday 11th of June, 2023 Hon. Damilare Soneye as step down for Hon Daisi Elemide who was a third time in the assembly representing good people of Odeda state constituency.

It was revealed, that because he is not enjoying the support of the majority House of Assembly members-elect, he directed the Clark of the house to order for the postponement of the inauguration in the middle of the night after many people from different local governments in the state and outside the state had fully prepared for the event.
