The governorship candidate for the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in the March 18 governorship election in Ogun State, Cyrus Oluwaseun Johnson, has congratulated Governor Dapo Abiodun on his swearing-in for second term.
Johnson, in a statement in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, on Wednesday, described the second term coming of the governor as a testament to his unwavering dedication and exemplary leadership.
The certified blockchain expert who lauded the governor’s first term achievements, noted that Abiodun’s initiative, such as the Ogun TechHub, Job Portal, amongst others have begun to create opportunities for young people as well as fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and skill development.
He charged the governor on the promotion of job creation and economic opportunities for the youth, even as he urged him to invest in education which he described as crucial for nurturing the potentials of the youth and equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to your unwavering dedication and exemplary leadership. As you embark on this new tenure, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations and offer some advice on instilling renewed hope for the youth of Ogun State.
“Your previous initiatives, such as the Ogun TechHub and the Ogun Job Portal, have already begun to create opportunities for young people, fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development. I encourage you to continue prioritizing youth empowerment by expanding and enhancing these programs, ensuring that they reach every corner of the state.
“Investing in education is crucial for nurturing the potential of the youth and equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. I urge you to focus on improving the quality of education in Ogun State, including the provision of modern learning facilities, teacher training programs, and curriculum reforms that align with emerging global trends”, Johnson stated.
He expressed optimism that the citizens of the state will enjoy the dividends of democracy during Abiodun’s second term.
Johnson, however, urged the governor to address the diverse needs and aspirations of the youth, insisting that he should engage them directly through town hall meetings.
He added: “Additionally, consider implementing targeted programs that provide mentorship, financial support, and access to resources for young entrepreneurs. By encouraging youth-led businesses and startups, you will unleash their innovative potential.
“As you strive to improve the lives of all citizens of Ogun State, it is essential to address the diverse needs and aspirations of the youth. Engage with them directly through town hall meetings, youth forums, and online platforms to better understand their concerns and aspirations.
“Lastly, I want to express my unwavering faith in your leadership and belief that under your guidance, every citizen of Ogun State will enjoy the benefits of a better life in all spheres.
“Your unwavering dedication, passion, and vision for the state have been evident throughout your first term, and I have no doubt that you will continue to steer Ogun State towards greater heights”.
