The Gateway Agenda, a socio-pressure but not partisan group with membership cut across all the three Senatorial districts of the state envisioned to propagate justice, equity, and fairness in the sharing of political appointments and even distribution of projects across Ogun State has been reactivated and reorganized after 17 years of its existence.
The reorganization of the group is coming up just as its Chairman Dr. Iziaq Kunke Salako was appointed as a Minister-designate by the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
At the inaugural session to rejuvenate the group held in Abeokuta, the State capital, it was resolved that the Vice Chairman Mr. Ayinde Lister should assume the the position of the group's Chairmanship in an acting capacity due to the vacuum created by the appointment of the Chairman Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako as Minister-designate pending the time when the group would have a substantive executives while the General Secretary of the group Deacon Obatungase Isreal Adebayo should continue to function as the General Secretary and Otunba Isaac Oseni was appointed as the Director of Publicity also in acting capacity respectively.
Speaking at the meeting, the new Chairman Mr. Ayinde Lister while congratulating members of the group on their various political achievement the Minister-designate Dr. Kunle Salako, distinguish members of federal house of representatives Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and Hon Femi Ogunbanwo reiterated the position of the group for socioeconomic development and even distribution of infrastructural project across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The Chairman who described the emergence of the Ayetoro born medical doctor cum politician as a new political order in the gateway state also noted that plans are on top gear for a grand reception to celebrate the political achievement of the members of the group as soon as the Ministers are sworn in by the President.
