The Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Ogun State chapter has expressed sadness over the demise of Comrade Akinola Adediran Abiodun who until his unfortunate departure was the Immediate Past Chairman of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ogun State Wing and NLC Treasurer.
Comrade Akinola Adediran who retired from service on Wednesday 21st of February, 2024, died in a ghastly motor accident death on Thursday 7th March, 2024.
The Ogun State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, in a statement issued on Friday, described the deceased as a successful administrator and educationist who got to the top by a dint of hard work.
Olanrewaju said, “He would be remembered for his exemplary lifestyle. He was a man who demonstrated great commitment to the service of the Union and the development of the Education sector as reflected in the various leadership roles he played.
“The late NUT Chair was a decent and diligent unionist whose death is a major loss to his family and the Nigerian Labour Congress ( NLC).
“The Union therefore commiserates with the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT and the Entire Labour force most especially Ogun NLC Chairman, Comrade Hameed Ademola Benco.
“Our prayer is that God will grant him eternal rest and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” Comrade Wale Olanrewaju said.
