The Senator representing Ogun West Senatoral District in the 10th Senate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi has revealed that work will start on the road linking all the four local government areas in Yewaland from Ilara to Ilase.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation made the revelation at the 365-Day Stewardship and Youth Dialogue: A Conversation With Yewa 10th National and State Legislators and Yewaland of My Dream Essay Prize Giving, a programme organized by Yewa Youths Association, held at the ASUP Hall of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
"This is one road that I am resolute that in the next four years, I will deliver to the good people of Yewaland and Ogun West because that is one road that connects all the four local government areas in Yewaland together. Work will commence on that road in the next two weeks".
The Senator while reading his scorecard to the Youths of Yewaland in the last one year said 19 roads facilitated for the good of the people of his constituency have been completed across the five local government areas of Ogun West with their commissioning to start soon.
The Aremo of Yewaland while emphasizing the need to cover the lost years for Ogun West in terms of infrastructural development, told the Youths that 15 blocks of classrooms complete with libraries have been completed across the senatoral district.
"Whenever I seat on that chair, I am not sitting as Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, I sit as Ogun West Senator. Whatever I say on that floor, I am saying on behalf of the People of Ogun West. Whatever I am able to bring back home, is a result of your vote that elected me as your senator", Senator Adeola stressed.
"I have sponsored 7 important bills namely the Nigeria railway amendment bills 2023, the Federal College of Geological And Cement Study,, Iselu, Yewa North. We have one of the largest deposit of limestone In Nigeria. It is an advantage to us we need people to study and have adept knowledge of it. It has pass second reading'".
Other bills already sponsored by the Senator within the last one year of his representation are a bill for an act to amend Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria ICAN law which was last amended 59 years ago. This he said has passed the second reading.
The Nigeria Railway Corporation amendment bill or an act to establish Federal University of Technology, Ilaro, a bill to amend the Niger Delta Commission act and a bill for an act to amend the National Commission for Women act.
Also in attendance at the event to account for their stewardship are the members of the House of Representatives representing Yewa North/Imeko Afton and Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituencies, Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and Hon. Abiodun Iziaq Akinlade, the Deputy Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lateefat Ajayi, Hon. Adegoke Awoso, Hon .Wahab Egungbohun, Hon. Bisi Oyedele, Professor Rahman Bello Chief Dapo Oke and royal fathers across Yewaland
