Ahead of LG Election In Ogun: PDP members decamped to SDP in Ado/Do Ota LG

Not fewer than 500 members of People’s Democratic Party decamped to the Social Democratic Party in Ado Odo OTA Local Government Area of Ogun State on Friday 16/08/2024.

They pledged to vote en masse for all SDP candidates in the local government council election scheduled for November 16,2024.

Among the defectors were formal PDP General Secretary. Pastor. Bamidele Olotin and Eng.Segun Obanla from Igbesa ward,others are, Mr Lawrence Kingsley, Ota II Ward. Mr Browne Michael, Alapoti WardMr Bàmgbose Mustapha, Ota III Ward
Chief Musiliu Akinpelu:Atan Ward and
people across the 16 wards in Ado Odo OTA LGA.

In their speeches, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the leadership of the PDP at the Federal level. They had hoped for better governance when they are in PDP in the past, but they have since realized that these parties fall short in delivering the benefits of democracy compared to SDP.

‘There is always mis understanding among the party leaders and candidates during election and they will not resolve it till election time.’ They appealed to be treated equally as existing SDP members and requested not to be victimized as newcomers.

Upon receiving the defectors, Otunba Babatunde Osoba who is the SDP Chairman of Ado Odo OTA Local Government Area and Mr Awolade Muyiwa Kehinde SDP Secretary, praised them for their decision to leave the parties, which he described as devilish.

He reassured them of fair treatment, emphasizing that the SDP party is large enough to accommodate all members, old and new alike.

He urged the electorate in the area to cast their votes for SDP Candidate for the position of council chairman and four councilors of the wards on Nov.16, 2024.

Pastor. Bamidele Olotin and Mr Obanla from Igbesa , expressed their dedication to mobilizing ward members to vote overwhelmingly for the SDP in the upcoming local government election on Nov, 2023.
