The Special Adviser/General Manager of Ogun State Public Works Agency, Engr. Babatunde Adesina, gave the assurance while featuring on a radio programme in Abeokuta, disclosing that all logistics and preliminary works of those roads had been perfected.
Engr. Adesina, who recalled that the present administration recently flagged-off the reconstruction of Lagos-Abeokuta Express Road, following the approval of the federal government, which gave the state government the privilege to fix the deplorable federal road, was at the insistence of Governor Abiodun, who was sensitive to the plight of people plying the road.
“Prince Dapo Abiodun is aware of the agonies commuters faced on the roads and since inception, he has been able to touch and complete some roads across the state including, Elite-Lantoro, Immigration-Prof. Wole Soyinka, Fajool-Alogi-Gbonogun, Ijebu-Epe, Awujale, Folagbde, Joju, Answarudeen-Oju-Ore, Osi-Ota-Raypower, Igan Okoto-Joga-Orile Phase One, Ewusi and Molusi College Roads, among others.
“We are imploring our people to be a little bit patience with the government, as other areas will soon be touched. We all know road construction does not begin with asphalt laying alone, there are planning stages, field work, sub-structure stage, cover, bridges and so on and as responsive and responsible government, we have been able to apply palliatives to some of the roads”, he said.
A resident from Olokuta community in Abeokuta, Alfa Aralamo Bashiru, appreciated government for the palliative applied on the Kemta-Olokuta road, appealing for speedy rehabilitation of the road, while Mrs. Ibikun from Ayetoro, called on government to fix Alamala-Ayetoro Road.
