Ogun Investment In Education Yielding Positive Results - SSG

The investment of Prince Dapo Abiodun's policy in the education system of Ogun State is yielding positive results, going by the performance of the students in both internal and external examinations, as well as in competitions.


Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, made this known at Ijebu-Ode, while delivering a keynote address during the 50th anniversary and commissioning of refurbished and equipped school laboratories, to commemorate the admission of 74-79 set of students to Ijebu-Ode Grammar School.


Mr. Talabi assured that the state government would continue to provide a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning, that would enable learners to excel in their studies.


He said the old students, who were now great achievers in their respective careers, decided to give back to their alma mater by leaving a legacy in the education system of the state, noting that quality, discipline and hard work of some of the old students, particularly those serving in the Prince Dapo Abiodun's government showed that they were highly dedicated and result-oriented.


"We owe the students a lot by continually contributing to the school to make it conducive for them to learn and also mould them up through character building and discipline", Mr. Talabi said.


Earlier, 74-79 Set President, Barr. Adewale Ogunade, said it was worthy to celebrate the landmark achievements of their admission to the first secondary school in Ijebuland, which gave them a good foundation in life, noting that the event necessitated giving back to their alma mater.


He appealed to the students to take the advantage of the laboratories, which comprised a technical drawing studio, mathematics and sciences laboratories, in order to better their performances and be the best among their peers.


 Prominent old students present at the event include, a Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ijebu-Ode/ Odogbolu / Ijebu-North East Federal Constituency, Barr. Femi Ogunbanwo; the state Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya and Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl .Tunji Odunlami.


Others are the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu; Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Tayo Lawal, while the Commissioner for Transportation, Engr.  Gbenga Dairo was on ground to rejoice with the old boys.
