Ibeju Lekki Council Boss Declare Zero Tolerance For Illiteracy And Idleness To commence Mass Education

Officials of the Agency for Mass Education under the Lagos State Government were at Ibeju Agbe today to flag off the Mass Education scheme with the theme, Zero Tolerance for Illiteracy and Idleness.

Akadiri Ayorinde, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki LGA stated this in a press statement signed yesterday.


In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa gave kudos to the Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola for always putting Ibeju-Lekki on the front burner for developmental projects, as he saluted the efforts of the Officials from the Agency who have remained resolute and consistent in pursuing the dreams of the vocational center. 

Speaking further, Hon. Olowa made a passionate plea to the youths of the community to take advantage of this free gift from Mr. Governor, and lead the campaign to bring others into the fold. In his words, "the vocational center will serve as a place to seek and acquire knowledge as the center will be equipped with State of the art infrastructure. 

The representative of the Director of Agency for Mass Education, Mrs. Olaide Oladunjoye appreciated the Executive Chairman and the community for the audience granted. She used the moment to enlighten the people on the advantages of learning high income skills which will project them further. Furthermore, she said, the Lagos State Government is responsible for renovatiing the building, equipping  and lecturers who will be teaching, all expenses paid for by the Logos State Government. 

Courses to be offered at the Vocational Center on completion will be Fashion designing, Carpentry, Culinary skills, Digital and ICT skills, Shoe making, amongst many other skills to be acquired. 

Present at the event were Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, Councillor representing Ward C2, Hon. Olamilekan Higara, Supervisor for Education, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, S. A on Agriculture, Hon. Olusola Edalere, S. A on Chieftaincy and Inter-Boundary  Affairs, Hon. Aliasau Oladehinde, Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Moruf Issa Olayinka, HOD Education department, Mrs. Belo, HOU Information Unit, Mr. Idowu Olaojubu, Mr. Gbenga Olukera, Chief Agbaje Adesegun, representing HRM Oba Waliu Olasunkanmi Oguntolu, APC Woman  Leader, Alhaja Mobi Raji, NYCN Coordinator, Comrade Yusuf Bello amongst others.
